Amsterdam

Where can I even begin to describe this amazing experience. I don’t think there is one adjective bold enough to truly explain how wonderful it was. I attended the International Summer School in Amsterdam for two weeks in July 2013. The first day I was so super excited yet nervous at the same time, of course you want to stand out and show them what you’ve got! We received our programs as we arrived. Wow, what a full two weeks we had ahead of us! Each day started with an hour and 45 minute class which lead into repertoire for an hour and then lunch! Everyone was grateful when lunch came. By that time we were already shaky in our legs! After lunch we had an hour and a half forsythe class and that followed another hour and a half of choreography and them home time! I learned so much and loved every moment! The choreography was particularly interesting and I quite had to adapt myself to suit their style! It pushed my boundaries and made me think! Auntie Paula was there for me through everything and I am truly so thankful and happy she encouraged me to pursue this. I am truly blessed to have been able to experience something this wonderful! I love to dance and live to dance. Amsterdam truly brought out the best in me. - Shanique Bleeker -
