Somer February was accepted to participate in the Valentina Kozlova International Ballet Competition New York final from 25 – 30 April 2016. She was accepted to participate in the Classical Ballet section as well as the Contemporary section.

Chandre' Wiid - finalist for the Val Whyte Bursary 2015

A huge congratulations to Chandre' Wiid who has been accepted as a finalist for the Val Whyte Bursary 2015.
 
VAL WHYTE BURSARY RULES AND REGULATIONS

BENEFITS


The Winner:   A monetary bursary from Grade 8 up to Grade 12, inclusive, to be spent on 
                       ballet related activities 

All Finalists:  One year’s tuition at the South African Ballet Academy
 
TO QUALIFY
1.         Candidate must be in Grade 7 year at school at the time of the audition.
2.         Candidates are required to dance in the audition class.  The audition takes the form of an unset class in which simple pointe work will be expected.

FINALISTS

1.         Finalists must attend all specified classes from the time of the audition until
the Val Whyte Gala which is usually held in the 2nd term of the following year.

2.         After the performance finalists will complete the year at the South African
Ballet Academy, paid for by Val Whyte.

3.         If the finalist is not able to meet these conditions this must be discussed with the Bursary Committee as soon as possible.  Finalists must be aware that they could be eliminated as a bursary candidate if conditions are not met.  

WINNER


1.         The winner will attend classes at the South African Ballet Academy up to the end of Grade 12, subject to being accepted by the Academy at an annual re-evaluation.

2.         The winner must be available to dance in any Val Whyte Production.

3.         The winner will be required to provide the Bursary Committee with an annual progress report until the end of Grade 12.

4.         Any change in circumstances which would result in the winner’s not being able to fulfil the conditions of the bursary must be discussed with the Bursary Committee.  Bursary winners must be aware that the bursary may be withdrawn if conditions are not met.
